Turaco Tours is based in Nelson Mandela Bay, formerly Port Elizabeth South Africa, a malaria-free region with a warm temperate climate.  We are situated at the meeting point of 7 different biomes – Fynbos (unique in the world to the western and southern Cape Province of South Africa); Forests; Valley Thicket; Semi-desert (Karoo); and Savanna, also vast beaches and rocky outcrops, mudflats and tidal estuaries.  This mix supports a wide variety of birds and other fauna and flora right on our doorstep.

We can custom make our tours to suit your needs, or you can make use of our standard packages listed below.

Accommodation for the night before and the night after the conclusion of our tours can be reserved for you.  We recommend the beautiful Thunzi Bush Camp which is where most of our tours commence, or any other venue of your choice.

We are happy to provide the necessary transport to and from the airport at no extra cost.  Tours are run at the pace dictated by you.

The blend of exciting birding, the Africa experience, time to relax and fellowship, all make for an unforgettable South African holiday.

The prices listed are per person sharing. In the case of the day tours, the price is inclusive of the Hotel/Guest House pick-up/drop-off, entrance fees and picnic breakfast and lunch. In respect of all overnight tours the price is inclusive of entrance fees, meals and accommodation.

Conditions of payment – 10% deposit to secure the booking with the balance payable 21 days before tour departure. Payment by Bank Transfer or credit card. Day tours can be paid in cash on the day.
